Dumeco switches consist of a set of moving and fixed contacts totally enclosed in a SMC housing of a non-tracking, heat resistance insulating materia. The switches are highly compact in design and offer the advantage of front operation. Notwithstanding the compactness, the switches have a high breaking capacity and are very cool in running i.e. they have a very low temperature rise. ARC Control Device Mechanism:

To assist arc extinction during circuit breaking, an arc defector of magnetic material is fitted around every break. As the magnetic fludakes the path of list resistance, the arc experiences force due to which it is led into the arc deflector and thus lengthened and cooled.
